Coastal Academy Football:
A Community-Built Legacy
Coastal Academy Football began as a bold vision and has grown into a program defined by passion, purpose, and people. At the heart of it is Coach Patton, who brought years of experience—from leading Marian Central to a state championship in Illinois, to coaching at Wisconsin, and mentoring athletes to the NFL—to launch Coastal’s 8-man team in 2021. The team expanded in size and talent in just a few seasons, making back-to-back CIF semifinal runs and reaching the Division 5AA Championship in 2024.

Now entering its fifth season, Coastal Academy Football competes proudly in Division 5, anchored by the values of character, accountability, and community. The program’s rapid growth reflects the vision of leaders like Samantha Martinez, Chedly Benatia, and Glen Henton, and the dedication of coaches such as Grant Terpstra and Lance Burmeister. Athletic staff like Cade Ukrainetz have been instrumental in keeping players healthy and prepared, while the coaching team continues to focus on long-term development and success.
